JB Hi Fi To Sell Expanded Marshall Sound Range Following Aqipa Deal
JB Hi Fi is set to sell an expanded range of Marshall sound gear, the deal was cut two months after struggling Sydney based distributor Ambertech lost the Marshall audio business to Aqipa.
The move will see new merchandising units set up in key JB Hi Fi stores for what has been described as a “Rock + Roll’ sound brand.
According to Joel Singer the Global Brand Director for Marshall, the expansion of the brand in Australia under the recently formed relationship with Aqipa is an “exciting opportunity”.
He admitted that JB Hi Fi had the right demographic profile for the brand which is people aged between 18 and 35 and those over 50 who are aware of the brand due to its strong presence among professional musicians.
Aqipa who recently established an Australian operation recently moved to buy back stock at retailers while also removing “old” merchandising collateral.
The new range will go on sale next month with a new networked Marshall system set to go on sale early in 2018.
Recently Marshall reinvigorated their classic lineup of audio gear with several new headphones and a brand-new line of multi-room speakers that come in three sizes.
The smallest of the bunch is the Acton. This can be used as a desktop or bookshelf speaker.
Next is the Stanmore, this speaker is bigger, and touted as the most versatile speaker in the Marshall line-up, Incorporated are advanced components that deliver high-performance sound that is the hallmark of the Marshall name.
The biggest and baddest of the bunch is Woburn. It has a dual 5.25″ woofers and 110 watts of power. Marshall describes the speaker as hitting “high trebles cleanly, handles low bass with ease and has a clear, lifelike mid-range.”
Each of these speakers features the iconic Marshall cabinet design, with each looking like it could easily belong on stage with your favorite rock band.
Each speaker has multiple connection options as well, including built-in Chromecast support, Spotify Connect, Airplay, RCA inputs, 3.5mm audio input, or Bluetooth audio. Seven one-touch preset buttons give you fast access to your favorite artists, albums, or playlists on Spotify or your favorite internet radio stations.
The Marshall Wireless Multi-Room Speaker System will be available in Australia next year.
