Unveiling the novel concept at the IFA electronics show in Berlin yesterday, the company noted that although Bluetooth is common on many portable products like mobile phones and can be used to send audio files digitally to a compatible pair of Bluetooth headphones, it also just as possible to send still images from mobile phones to a TV.

According to the report, the Bluetooth will be “installed in models in LG’s PG7000-series Plasma and LG7000-series LCD sets and will also be included in 7000-series models”.

The report also said that “LG demonstrated the feature with a 50-inch plasma TV that displayed a photo from a camera phone within moments of it being transmitted”.

No prices nor a firm launch date for the new Bluetooth-enabled TVs have been given.
