IPhone Leak Reveals AR Feature

SAN FRANCISCO – Apple is continuing its push into augmented reality (AR) as it works with component suppliers to bring the power of FaceID and its real-world sensors to the rear of the iPhone as they get ready to explode into iOS powered devices in 2019.

Apple has held talks with prospective suppliers of the new system, including Infineon Technologies, Sony, STMicroelectronics and Panasonic.

In the month before the launch of the new iPhones, Apple CEO Tim Cook several times reiterated his belief that augmented reality is the future.

A Bloomberg report suggests that, with FaceID now public, the focus will switch to looking at the user, and what the user is looking at. However, testing of the technology is still in early stages.
