Interdyn Snares Panasonic Blu-ray Distribution After Oppo Loss

Melbourne-based Interdyn has inked a new deal with Panasonic, for the distribution of its specialist Blu-ray players in selected Australian AV retailers and integrators. The agreement will fill the void left by Oppo’s discontinued range of digital Blu-ray players.

Distribution will commence with Panasonic’s DP-UB820 UHD Blu-ray player, followed by its flagship DP-UB9000 UHD in late 2018. (Wholesale pricing is yet to be confirmed, with initial stock expected December 2018).

Interdyn Director, Evgeny Vizelman, is confident Panasonic will cater to retailer and integrator requirements, following the closure of Oppo Digital:

“It is Interdyn’s focus to cater to the needs of our retailer and integrator networks; and with the closure of OPPO Digital we are excited to be able to bring our customers a new generation of Blu-ray players from a world class brand.”

Panasonic Australia MD, Paul Reid, claims Interdyn has proven its distribution of specialist audio equipment in Australia, with the company “confident” its new premium 4K Blu-Ray players are in the “best” hands.

The news is another addition to Interdyn’s portfolio, after snaring Australian distribution for IsoTek power conditioners in June.

Existing Interdyn Oppo Digital customers will automatically receive access to Panasonic’s Blu-ray range, with other customers asked to contact their representative, to discuss becoming a Panasonic re-seller.
