Braun has confirmed the return of its classic LE speakers, debuting three new models at IFA 2019.

The new speakers take inspiration from the Dieter Rams designed models first released 60 years ago and are produced by British brand Pure Audio.

While the LE is an old design, the new speakers feature plenty of advanced tech, including bespoke digital signal processing, built-in class D amplification, Google Assistant built-in, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming, Chromecast and Airplay 2.

The Google Assistant functionalities can be turned off for those who don’t want them.

The speakers can be used in a wireless multi-room setup and are capable of handling high-res digital files up to 96kHz/24-bit.

In landscape orientation, speakers can be used as a single stereo speaker, or two speakers sat upright can function as a stereo pairing.

Pure Audio is currently distributed in Australia by Aqipa but it’s not yet clear if they will handle the new Braun range as well.

Local release date and pricing are still to be confirmed.
