A new leak suggests Bose is preparing a new generation of QuietComfort headphones that will bring premium features from its flagship QuietComfort Ultra series into a more affordable and mainstream offering.

As brands like Sony, Apple and Sennheiser continue to compete on noise cancellation, spatial audio and smart features, the leaked Bose move would strengthen the audio company’s position in the competitive premium wireless headphone market. 

The new QuietComfort model is expected to borrow components from the Ultra range, including advanced active noise cancellation and Bose’s immersive audio technologies.

Among the features of Bose’s current QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are spatial audio, improved ANC algorithms, lossless USB-C audio and Cinema Mode. The product sets the benchmark for the company’s headphone lineup.

For retailers, Bose introducing Ultra features to the QuietComfort range means being able to offer a stronger mid to premium product, one that sits between an entry-level noise-cancelling headphone and the flagship models.
