Sandisk Launches New USB-C Flash Drives With Up To 256GB Storage

Sandisk has launched a new range of compact USB-C flash drives aimed at users moving files between modern laptops, smartphones and tablets.

The new CZB Series is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, with sequential read speeds of up to 250MB/s.

Using the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard, the drives support bandwidth of up to 5Gbps and are designed for everyday tasks such as transferring documents, backing up photos and moving larger files between devices.

However, the drives are unlikely to match the performance of portable solid-state drives for more demanding tasks such as editing high-resolution video directly from external storage.

The CZB Series features a native USB-C connector and a compact black enclosure with a built-in loop for attaching the device to a keychain or lanyard.

Each drive measures just under two inches long and weighs around six grams.

Sandisk said the 256GB model could hold approximately 60,000 photos, although the actual number will depend on image resolution and file size.

The drives are compatible with Windows 10, Windows 11 and macOS Monterey or later, while an optional Sandisk app provides additional backup and file management tools.

US pricing starts at US$19.99 for the 64GB model, with the 128GB and 256GB versions currently selling for US$24.99 and US$42.99 respectively.

Sandisk has not confirmed Australian pricing or a local release date, although the company said broader availability was expected across Asia-Pacific and other international markets.

The launch follows Sandisk’s recent release of its officially licensed FIFA World Cup 2026 USB-C flash drives (below) in Australia.

The whistle-shaped tournament editions are available through Officeworks, priced from A$69 for 64GB, with a 128GB Gold Edition selling for A$119.
