HMD Launches Budget-Friendly “Hybrid” Touch 4G Phone With Smart Cloud Features
Finnish manufacturer HMD Global has launched the HMD Touch 4G, a compact, all‑screen “hybrid” phone designed to bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones.
The phone, which takes inspiration from the Nokia Asha series, is currently exclusively available in India for just ₹3,999 (A$45).
The Touch 4G runs HMD’s custom RTOS Touch operating system, not Android, and offers a stripped‑back experience focused on essential connectivity.
Its standout feature is the Cloud Phone service, delivering cloud‑hosted browser shortcuts for news, games, weather and more, with no app store needed.
The device also includes Express Chat, a proprietary cross‑platform messaging app for text, voice and video calls with Android and iOS users.

At its core, the Touch 4G is modest but functional. It features a 3.2‑inch QVGA touchscreen, powered by a Unisoc T127 chipset, 64MB RAM and 128MB internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 32GB).
Cameras are basic, with a 2MP rear sensor with LED flash and a VGA‑level front camera.
Connectivity includes 4G LTE, dual SIM, Wi‑Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is IP52 dust‑ and splash‑resistant, weighs 100g, and offers up to 30 hours of use from its 1,950 mAh battery.
HMD markets the Touch 4G as ideal for first‑time internet users, digital minimalists and those seeking a durable secondary device.
Its compact size, robust battery life and simplified interface are pitched as a modern throwback to Nokia’s feature‑smartphone hybrids.
