Hisense has launched the L9Q, a triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector.

It’s aimed at buyers who want a cinematic image without a ceiling mount or long-throw setup.

It uses the company’s LPU Digital Laser Engine 2.0 to deliver 4K images up to 200 inches, rated at 5,000 ANSI lumens for daytime-friendly viewing.

The L9Q covers 110% of the BT.2020 colour space and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to preserve highlight and shadow detail.

It comes with an impressive sound system built in

A built-in, Devialet-tuned speaker system handles audio, creating a spacious, immersive audio experience. (That’s unusual at this price point and will spare buyers an immediate sound-bar upgrade.)

As an ultra-short-throw unit, the L9Q can sit just inches from the wall. Auto Screen Alignment and manual keystone correction simplify setup.

The finish, dubbed ‘Imperial Copper Gilt’, adds diamond-cut detailing intended to blend into modern living rooms

The big selling points are brightness, wide colour, premium audio, and discreet placement.

All at a price that undercuts the giant OLED TVs while chasing the same living-room use cases.

The projector is priced at US$5,999 ($9,300) and is currently available through Hisense.com. There’s no official Australian release date yet, but it shouldn’t be too long until it’s available in major retailers locally.
