Chinese brand FiiO has expanded its fast-growing entry-level lineup with the launch of two open-back Jade Audio headphones.

The JT7 planar magnetic and JT3 dynamic headphones launch alongside the BR15 – a desktop Bluetooth receiver aimed at modernising older hi-fi systems without the premium price tag.

The headline act is the JT7 (pictured below), a remarkably affordable planar magnetic headphone landing at just US$119.

Designed in-house, it features a large 95 × 86 mm planar driver and a symmetrical push-pull magnet array typically found in far pricier models.

FiiO has also added its F.E.S. diaphragm embossing, said to boost low-frequency performance without sacrificing speed or clarity.

Weighing 318g, the JT7 folds for transport and includes both 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm cables, plus replaceable pads and a removable headband cushion.

Sitting below it is the JT3, a US$69 open-back dynamic headphone targeting newcomers who want an airy, spacious soundstage on a tighter budget.

The JT3 uses a 50 mm composite diaphragm driver with a brass damping ring to control resonances and reduce distortion. The 330g frame includes velvet earpads, aluminium-magnesium grilles and dual 3.5 mm connectors to keep cable swaps simple.

Rounding out the launch is the BR15, a US$199 desktop Bluetooth receiver built for hi-fi systems, headphone amps or powered speakers.

Based on Qualcomm’s new QCC5181 platform, it supports both aptX Lossless and LDAC, and differentiates itself with a fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC – a configuration rarely seen at this price point.

Connectivity for the BR15 includes Bluetooth, USB (front and rear) and SPDIF inputs, plus dual RCA and balanced XLR outputs. A 10-band PEQ is accessible through the FiiO Control app, and the unit includes its own power supply and remote.

For a company already known for rapid releases, FiiO’s latest trio continues its push into value-driven hi-fi, delivering engineering normally reserved for much higher price brackets.
