Electronic Sales Slide In Sept.

CANBERA – Retail sales of electrical and electronic goods fell 0.7 percent in September, according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Overall retail turnover by contrast was steady at 0.0 percent, compared with a fall of 0.5 percent in August.  Department store sales overall were up 2.1 percent.

Online retail turnover contributed just 4.4 per cent to total retail turnover, Stats estimates.
