Denon Announces Two New Small AV Receivers

Denon have announced two new S-Series 8K capable AV receivers aimed at small and medium sized rooms.

The AVR-S670H, a 5.2 channel model, and AVR-S770H, a 7.2 channel, Dolby Atmos capable receiver, available for pre-order beginning July 25th in the US, however Australian pricing and availability is yet to be revealed.

The AVR-S670H combines Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio surround sound, along with Audyssey MultEQ room correction technology, and six HDMI inputs, three 8K capable, and one HDMI output.

Supporting HDMI 2.1, and 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rates, and auto low latency mode, but does not support Quick Media Switching. All HDR version, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are included, and it can pump out 75W per channel due to five power amplifiers.

Also compatible with BlueTooth, Wi-Fi Connectivity, Apple AirPlay 2, and Denon’s HEOS system for wireless multiroom music streaming, controlled through an app on smartphones, tablets, or PCs. Also coming with a dedicated phono input for moving magnet style turntable cartridges, and is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit.

The AVR-770H has all the same features as above, adding 3D immersive sound support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and two additional channels of 75W amplification, and adding an available second zone able to receive its own stereo signal.

The last released update to this lineup was in 2022, with a full refresh of A, X, and S Series models, however the S series is the most affordable.
