CES 2026: Epson Brings Google Gemini AI to Lifestudio Projectors
Epson has unveiled a major AI upgrade for its Lifestudio projector range at CES 2026, announcing that select models will ship with Google TV integrated with Gemini – making the Japanese manufacturer one of the first to bring Google’s new AI assistant natively to projectors.
The new platform is built on MediaTek’s smart projector system-on-chip, which already powers streaming directly on Epson’s projectors.
With Gemini now embedded into Google TV, users will be able to search for content using more natural, conversational voice commands, get personalised recommendations across services and browse more than 700,000 movies, shows and live TV channels from a single interface.
A unified watchlist will also sync across devices, letting users save shows on their phone and pick them up later on the big screen.

Beyond entertainment, the projectors will double as a smart home hub, allowing control of compatible lights, thermostats and doorbells directly from the projector interface.
Epson says the first model to receive the upgrade will be the Lifestudio Grand ultra-short-throw projector, with support arriving via a firmware update in the coming months. Additional Lifestudio models are expected to follow throughout 2026.
Hardware specifications across the Lifestudio range remain unchanged, with Epson continuing to lean on its 3LCD projection technology and Bose-tuned audio systems across portable and ultra-short-throw designs.
For Epson, the announcement is part of a broader push to make projectors feel less like niche accessories and more like full-fledged smart entertainment devices.
