Budget Gaming Notebooks With New Nvidia Graphics Expected At CES 2017

CES 2017 is expected to bring a range of powerful but affordable gaming notebooks from Asus, Lenovo, MSI and Gigabyte powered by new Nvidia graphics cards.

According to a report from Digitimes, mobile variants of Nvidia’s GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti will feature in a range of new gaming notebooks. Despite having low power consumption and a small form factor, the cards are expected to deliver full high definition gaming performance to notebooks.

“Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU-equipped notebooks are currently enjoying strong demand from China and Southeast Asia and the release of the GTX 1050 is expected to further increase sales,” the Digitimes report claims.

Benchmarks of the mobile GTX 1050 Ti leaked last month suggest the card has up to 86% better performance than Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 960M it is rumoured to replace. The new graphics card also performed 10% better than the top-end GTX 970M.

Specific details, including pricing and release dates, are set to be announced early next month at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
