Find Out If Your iPhone 6s Is Affected By Unexpected Shutdown Problem
Following a series of complaints about iPhone 6s smartphones unexpectedly shutting down, Apple have established an online verification tool for users to check if their iPhone 6 is affected.
Apple launched an in-store battery replacement program late last month for some iPhone 6s devices manufactured between September and October 2015. The company has now extended the program to customers unable to visit an Apple Store through the ‘iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues’.
“Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down,” Apple said on the support page.
“This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.”
iPhone 6s owners will need to provide the serial number of their device, found in the about section of the smartphone under Settings, then General, then About.
