Audio equipment maker, Bose, has released its new clinically-tested ‘bedtime wearable’, Sleepbuds II, pledging to help facilitate better quality sleep.
The product claims to offer better noise masking than its predecessor, with additional categories of sound content set to encourage relaxation and rest.
The new Bose Sleepbuds II will land in Australia from October 13 for A$379.95.
The ‘ultra-comfortable’ true wireless earbuds aim to block, cover and replace audible distractions (e.g. loud partners, traffic) and reduce mental distractions.
The Sleepbuds II infuse clinically tested technology to optimise sleep, and do not perform like traditional wireless earbuds (e.g. stream music/make calls).
The product accompanies a charging case which provides up to 30 additional hours of battery life – compatible with iOS and Android devices – plus IPX4 sweat and water resistant.
Each bud is around the same depth as a pencil erase, pledging to notably reduce irritation when resting on a pillow,.
A study commissioned by Bose with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus found 86% of respondents agreed the product helped them fall asleep quicker, with 80% reporting an overall improvement in sleep quality.
“Bose Sleepbuds II use advancements in our proprietary noise masking technology because covering sound — not cancelling it — is a better solution for sleeping,” states Steve Romine, head of the Bose Health Division.
“You can’t duplicate the experience combining earbuds with apps, playing your music louder, or using earplugs and bedside machines — so millions of people are still suffering”
“They [Sleepbuds II] ‘quiet’ more of the low frequencies found in the biggest threats to a peaceful bedroom — like snoring partners, idling engines, and nearby footsteps.”
