Bose Expands Open-Ear Range With New Sport And Ultra Earbuds
Bose is expanding its open-ear audio range in Australia with the new Sport Open Earbuds and second-generation Ultra Open Earbuds, targeting fitness users and everyday listeners.
Priced at A$349.95, the Sport Open Earbuds (below) use a soft silicone C-arm cuff designed to remain secure during running and strenuous workouts.
The IP54-rated earbuds resist sweat, splashes and dust, while physical buttons allow users to control music, calls and volume without relying on touch gestures.
Battery life is rated at up to seven hours, with the wireless charging case providing another 22 hours.

The A$449.95 Ultra Open Earbuds 2nd Gen (below) retain Bose’s cuff-style design but add a newly engineered driver that is claimed to produce deeper bass and greater volume.
Bose has also added ‘Cinema Mode’, which uses its TrueSpatial processing to create a wider presentation for movies, television programs and podcasts while keeping dialogue centred.
The Ultra model offers up to nine hours of playback, or five hours with Immersive Audio enabled. Its redesigned wireless charging case holds another 19.5 hours.
Both models use Bose OpenAudio technology to direct sound towards the ear without sealing the ear canal or relying on bone conduction. This allows listeners to remain aware of traffic, announcements and other surrounding sounds, although neither model offers active noise cancellation.

Shared features include AI-enhanced SpeechClarity call processing, automatic volume adjustment, Bluetooth 5.4, two-device multipoint connectivity and Google Fast Pair.
Both models will be available in black and white smoke. The Sport version also comes in limited-edition eucalyptus green, while the Ultra adds cherry chocolate, olive green and sky pink. The latter will be exclusive to Bose and JB Hi-Fi in Australia.
MyBose pre-orders opened on September 18, followed by public pre-orders on September 19. Both models will go on sale on October 1.
