Beko To Exit New Zealand Market As Part Of Global Restructure
Beko has confirmed it will cease its commercial operations in New Zealand during 2026 as part of a broader global optimisation strategy, marking the end of the appliance manufacturer’s direct presence in the country.
The company said the decision follows an extensive review of its regional and local operations, with management concluding that continuing to operate the New Zealand business is no longer commercially sustainable.
Despite the closure of its local operations, Beko products will continue to be available through the company’s existing retail partners during the transition period. The arrangement also extends to Hitachi-branded appliances, which Beko distributes in the New Zealand market.

Customers who already own Beko or Hitachi products will continue to receive after-sales support, with the company confirming that customer service operations will remain in place and existing contact details will not change.
Beko said it is working with employees and business partners to manage the transition responsibly while minimising disruption for customers and retailers.
The move is part of a wider strategy to optimise the company’s global operations. While New Zealand will lose its local commercial business, Beko Australia will continue operating as normal, with the company maintaining its focus on strengthening its domestic operations, improving financial performance and supporting long-term business sustainability.
