Apple’s iPhone Duo Gets $30,500 Liquid Metal Luxury Makeover
Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo has received an ultra-exclusive makeover that pushes its price to more than A$30,000, with just 17 units of the customised device set to be produced.
The “Liquid Metal” edition is the work of luxury smartphone customiser Caviar, which has transformed Apple’s first foldable iPhone with a sculptural sterling-silver exterior. The top-spec 2TB version is priced at US$21,340 (about A$30,500)
Despite its name, the handset does not appear to replace the iPhone Duo’s conventional hinge with liquid metal. Instead, Caviar has used the name to describe the visual treatment of the phone’s exterior, with polished silver designed to create the appearance of metal frozen in motion.

Caviar says the surface features flowing lines and reflective detailing inspired by the way the foldable device transforms as it opens and closes. The result is a collector’s version of Apple’s new smartphone, rather than a technical upgrade to the underlying hardware.
Caviar is offering the Liquid Metal edition in four storage configurations. The 256GB model for US$18,840 (about A$27,000), the 512GB version at US$19,200 (about A$27,500), and the 1TB model for US$19,910 (about A$28,500). The prices are before any applicable Australian taxes, duties or shipping costs.
Retaining the core hardware of Apple’s iPhone Duo, the customised flashy foldable has a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch internal screen, opening in a book-style design. Apple has positioned the device as a premium addition to its 2026 iPhone range, with the standard model starting at US$1,999.
The standard iPhone Duo itself is already one of Apple’s most expensive smartphones, and the Caviar version costs more than 10 times the entry-level Duo.
With just 17 of Caviar’s Liquid Metal editions to be produced around the world, the device sits firmly in the exclusive luxury-collector market.
