Arlo Revokes Features, Support For Older Cameras

Top US home-security camera brand Arlo is taking away many of the features it promised paying customers, including free 7-days cloud storage, email notifications, and push notifications.

What’s shocking is that some of these features such as 7-days worth of free cloud storage was advertised on the packaging.

In a new, retroactive “End-Of-Life Policy,” the company delivered the news that it reserved the right to eliminate these services and more for any camera that hasn’t been manufactured for four years.

Other services that will be slashed include email notifications and E911 emergency calling after April 1st, 2023.

“Legacy Video Storage” with AWS S3 will disappear after January 1st, 2024.

There will be no guarantees for Arlo Gen 3 or Arlo Pro after April 1st, 2023. The same goes for models Arlo Baby, Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Q, Arlo Q+, Arlo Lights, and Audio Doorbell after Jan 1st, 2024.
