Amazon Finds Gold On Black Friday

Amazon Australia for the first time joined the much-touted Australian Black Friday and today’s Cyber Monday events, claiming to offer deals on “thousands” of its products.

The tech giant also lifted an unpopular embargo that has prevented Australians from accessing the Amazon global site, saying that “Aussies can now access worldwide deals as well”.

According to Rocco Braeuniger, country manager at Amazon Australia: “We have been delighted with the response to our first ever Black Friday Sale in Australia … Customers have snapped up deals across the board, with video games and games consoles being the best-selling of all the deals on the first day”.

Best selling video game was said to be Red Dead Redemption 2, while the top seller in the consumer electronics class was Bose’s QuietComfort 35 wireless noise-cancelling headphones. Deals will continue to be offered until one minute to midnight tonight, Amazon says.
