1000 Ultimately To Staff New Tassie, Vodafone Customer Care Centre

It is expected by the close of 2015, more
than a thousand staff will be based at the $12million state-of-the-art centre.
Staff from the existing centre of Kingston, also in Hobart, will start to
relocate in the coming months.

The design, construction and fit out
utilised the skills of a further 250.

Vodafone Chief
Executive Officer Inaki Berroeta said the building is evidence of the company’s
commitment to industry best customer service and to Australian jobs.

“Customer care is at the very heart of our business,” Mr Berroeta said. “We’re
really proud that our commitment to our customers means that we can also create
exciting jobs in Tasmania and support local businesses.

“We’re also very proud to be one of the state’s biggest private employers,
contributing tens of millions of dollars a year to the local economy.

“The customer care centre is Vodafone’s flagship, and a significant investment
in the Tasmanian economy.”

Being environmentally
friendly and energy efficient was at the heart of the construction and fit out,
with the building scoring a 4.5 Star NABERS (National Australian Built Environment
Rating System) rating.
