McIntosh Reintroduces C22 Vacuum Tube PreamplifierMcIntosh states electromagnetic input switching provides for “reliable, noiseless and distortion free operation”, while low distortion levels of all types are less than 0.08 per cent, allowing music to be presented “with total transparency and accuracy”.

The C22’s 10 inputs include two balanced and six unbalanced, along with moving coil and moving magnet phono input sections with selectable resistance and capacitive loading, designed to allow for every phono cartridge and turntable to be “perfectly matched to produce the best sound”.

Outputs comprise of one set of balanced and three sets of unbalanced connections.

McIntosh states bass and treble tone controls with a bypass feature allow users to listen to their favourite songs at a preferred tonal balance, while power control outputs will turn a complete McIntosh system on or off using the front panel or remote control.

The C22 sports a partial black glass front panel, knobs and brushed aluminium end caps, designed to blend in with contemporary McIntosh components.
