Telcos Woo Customers With Galaxy S6 Deals
Optus is getting behind the upcoming release of the flagship S6 and S6 edge by offering 6 GB of data per month on selected plans with pre-orders of the next-gen smartphones.
Customers who pre-order the 32 GB S6 on a 24-month $80 My Plan Plus plan, or the 32 GB S6 edge on a 24-month $80 My Plan Plus plan with $5 monthly handset repayments, will receive 6 GB of data per month for use within Australia. In another sweetener, Optus is offering customers who pre-order the S6 or S6 edge on a 24-month contract with a $60 per month or above plan six months of Netflix with data usage excluded. “We have packed our plans to the brim with data, giving customers plenty of freedom to enjoy their new phone however they like,” Ben White, Optus vice president of mobile marketing, commented. “Streaming your favourite band’s latest songs, sharing your holiday snaps on social media or getting your daily cat video fix – it’s all possible with 6 GB.” Pre-orders will be available online from 5pm (AEDST) today, and will be available in Optus stores and via telesales from 9am tomorrow. Telstra, meanwhile, states it is boosting some of its most popular mobile plans with more data and a bonus six-month Presto subscription from April 9 in time for the launch of the S6 and S6 edge. Telstra has advised that both the S6 and S6 edge will be available on a range of Mobile Accelerate and Easy Share Business plans, with the Presto subscription to be included with every Mobile Accelerate and Easy Share Business plan from April 9. Virgin Mobile has announced it will be offering Data Rollover under its new S6 and S6 edge postpaid plans. Data Rollover, which launched earlier this month, provides for unused monthly data allowances to rollover from one month to the next. The S6 and S6 edge will also be available for pre-order online from Virgin Mobile from 5pm today, or via Virgin Mobile’s call centre, and to buy in-store from April 10. |
