Western Digital 1TB Travel SSD Lands In Oz

Western Digital has launched its durable new My Passport Go SSD with up to 1TB of storage and a highly-portable design in Australia, from $149.

The latest addition to the award-winning, WD-branded My Passport series promises to deliver SSD performance of up to 400 MB/s — more than twice as fast as typical portable devices.

Featuring a shock-absorbing rubber cover that enables it to survive drops up to two metres.

Built for those on the move it measures just 95 x 67 x 10 mm and weighs a paltry 55g and features a built-in cable.

Compatible with both PC and Mac computers, with auto backup software for Windows built-in and compatible with Time Machine for Mac backup (reformatting required).

Western Digital state the SSD is compatible with PS4, Xbox One, One S, and One X gaming consoles enabling users to expand their storage when running out of space on the console hard drive.

The My Passport Go is available in Cobalt Blue or Amber with capacities of 500GB and 1TB.

The SSD can be purchased from today in select Western Digital retailers for $149 (500GB) and $269 (1TB).
