Uniden Australia has unveiled its latest UHF radio line-up, the UH45 Max Series and UH6xx Max Series, delivering upgraded performance, improved safety and more flexible charging options.

Designed for everything from backyard adventures to serious off-grid travel, the new models introduce key innovations including “Kid Zone Plus” and Voice Scramble privacy modes, USB-C rechargeable battery compatibility, and extended range – up to 13km on the top-tier UH620 Max model.

The UH45 Max Series (0.5W) is the family-friendly option, offering over 3km range and 20+ hours of battery life. Compact and lightweight, it includes a built-in LED light, VOX hands-free functionality, and compatibility with both rechargeable and alkaline batteries.

For those heading further off the grid, the UH6xx Max Series (1–2W) ups the ante with rugged construction, longer range (7–13km depending on model), USB-C charging, large backlit LCD displays, and hands-free VOX operation.

The series is tailored for 4WDers, hikers, and outdoor professionals seeking reliable performance in remote areas.

The new range also addresses consumer demand for privacy and safety, particularly for families, by enabling users to block unwanted chatter across UHF channels through its enhanced security modes.

Pricing starts from $36.95 for the entry-level UH45 Max and $64.95 for the UH610 Max.

“We’ve strengthened safety, future-proofed charging with USB-C, and improved range, so families and adventurers alike can stay connected wherever they are,” said Brad Hales, Head of Marketing, Oceania at Uniden.
