Two Decades On Klipsch Brings Back The Forte Loudspeaker

Weeks after Klipsch shifted distribution of their products in Australia from Adelaide based Powermove to Melbourne based Qualifi the US Company has rolled out an old favourite that has been out of production since 1996.

Despite being out of production for more than two decades Klipsch has bought back their Forte loudspeaker which back then was a highly popular purchase.

Looking to befit from a move back to retro products the first- and second-gen Forte speakers combined to be the company’s best-selling speakers of all time, a company spokeswoman said. When asked what motivated the company to bring it back, she called it “a natural evolution and building block of the Klipsch Heritage series — the missing link between the Heresy and Cornwall.”

The Original Klipsch speakers

The Forte III features a three-way design with a 12-inch woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. The midrange horn incorporates a modified Tractrix design with Mumps technology to improve coverage and control of the key mid-frequency band, said Klipsch.

The Forte III also uses a 15-inch rear-mounted passive radiator for greater bass output and extension.

At just 13 inches deep, the Klipsch Forte III can be used in narrow, shallow spaces. The speakers are currently available in American walnut, natural cherry, black ash and distressed oak.

The Forte III also features updated cosmetics and the latest advancements in acoustic engineering, while maintaining the original elegant design and powerful performance that made it so popular years ago claims Klipsch executives.

The speaker hosts a three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter, with all new state of the art titanium compression drivers for a smooth and powerful response. A new midrange horn incorporates a modified Tractrix® design with patented Mumps technology to improve coverage and control of the key mid-frequency band. The Forte III employs a rear-mounted passive radiator that is 15” in size for greater bass output and extension.
At just 13” deep, the Klipsch Forte III solves space issues with its narrow, shallow footprint, while still delivering room-filling, quality sound.

Each pair of Forte III loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that are harvested from the same timber. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory and the finished product is inspected and labelled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that each pair of speakers is a matched set.
