TP-Link has launched its first Wi-Fi 7 travel router, the BE3600 Travel Router (TL-WR3602BE), offering up to 3.6 Gbps of bandwidth to simplify connecting multiple devices to public Wi-Fi networks.

The compact router is available for $214, with Amazon currently offering it for $168 through a $46 discount available until the end of August.

The travel router addresses the common frustration of connecting multiple family devices to hotel or airport Wi-Fi by allowing users to pre-connect all devices to a single router.

Users then only need to connect one device to public networks, navigating captive portals and login pages once through TP-Link’s Tether mobile app or web interface.

The router can simultaneously connect up to 90 devices, significantly exceeding smartphone hotspot capabilities that typically support only a handful of connections.

The TL-WR3602BE includes support for OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols, enabling connections to over 35 VPN providers, including NordVPN and Surfshark.

This functionality provides an additional privacy layer when using untrusted public Wi-Fi networks.

A customisable button allows quick VPN activation or other function shortcuts, while the device’s compact design maintains portability without sacrificing security features.

The router operates on 5V power and can be powered through multiple methods, including an included AC adapter, external power bank, or USB-C connection to a laptop, providing flexibility for various travel scenarios.

Physical features include a pair of extendable external antennas for range extension, a USB-A 3.0 port for file sharing from connected drives, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, and a 1 Gbps LAN port.

The Wi-Fi 7 travel router targets frequent travellers and families who require reliable, secure internet connectivity across multiple devices while away from home networks.

The device’s ability to handle numerous simultaneous connections while maintaining high-speed Wi-Fi 7 performance addresses the growing demand for portable networking solutions.

TP-Link’s entry into the Wi-Fi 7 travel router market reflects increasing consumer expectations for faster, more secure mobile connectivity as remote work and travel continue to intersect.
