Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed the company is planning additional AI partnerships for its Apple Intelligence suite following a successful Q4 that posted USD $102.5 billion (approximately A$154 billion) in revenue, despite facing supply constraints on iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 models.

Apple’s favourable Q4 results are expected to continue into the holiday period, with projected revenue growth of 10%-12% for the December quarter.

However, strong demand has created supply constraints on several iPhone models.

Speaking to CNBC, Cook confirmed Cupertino plans to partner with more AI providers for Apple Intelligence following its 2024 OpenAI deal.

Cook did not specify which companies Apple is negotiating with but confirmed the intent to strike new AI partnerships.

Cook confirmed Apple will release its long-awaited AI-overhauled Siri next year. Apple initially planned to launch the updated Siri earlier in 2025, but the release was delayed.

Recent rumours suggest a March 2026 launch date.

Cook disclosed Apple incurred USD $1.1 billion (approximately A$1.65 billion) in additional costs from tariffs during the September quarter, with USD $1.4 billion (approximately A$2.1 billion) in tariff costs expected for the December quarter.

Tariffs have been a significant issue in tech throughout 2025.

Apple’s plans to expand AI partnerships beyond OpenAI suggest a multi-provider strategy for Apple Intelligence, potentially offering users choice among AI models similar to how Samsung and other manufacturers approach AI integration.

The supply constraints on iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 models indicate demand remains strong despite competition from Android manufacturers and economic headwinds.

Apple’s ability to project double-digit revenue growth for the holiday quarter reflects confidence in sustained demand.

The delayed Siri overhaul represents a setback for Apple’s AI ambitions as competitors including Google and Samsung have already deployed more advanced AI assistants.

The March 2026 timeline would place the new Siri more than a year behind initial expectations.

The iPhone 17 pricing starts around A$1,399 for base models, though specific pricing varies by configuration and storage capacity.
