Thousands of Smoke Alarms Sold on Amazon Recalled Over Fire Risk
More than 11,000 smoke alarms sold exclusively through Amazon have been recalled after US safety regulators warned they may fail to sound during a fire.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall for the LShome Photoelectric 3-Pack Smoke Detector Fire Alarms on February 12, citing a defect that could prevent the alarm from activating promptly.
According to the CPSC, if the sensing threshold for security warnings is set too high, the devices may not trigger in time, posing a serious fire hazard and risk of injury or death.
The recall affects around 11,000 units sold online between February 2024 and December 2025 for about US$30 (approximately A$46).

The alarms are white, circular and powered by 9-volt batteries, featuring a light sound warning and test button.
The smoke alarms were sold by Chinese retailer TIANJINSHIHAOWEIXINSHENGJIDIANANZHUANGGONGCHENG via Amazon’s US platform.
No injuries or incidents have been reported to date.
Consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled smoke alarms and contact the supplier via email to arrange a full refund through Amazon.
Amazon has been contacted for comment.
