Melbourne-based Synergy Audio Visual has been appointed the official Australian distributor for UK loudspeaker manufacturer ATC’s high-end Hi-Fi range, expanding an existing relationship that already covers New Zealand.

The new agreement unifies ATC distribution across both markets and will see Synergy handle sales, support and service for the brand’s premium domestic loudspeakers and electronics throughout Australia.

The Australian partnership will focus exclusively on ATC’s high-end Hi-Fi lineup.

Philip Sawyer, Managing Director of Synergy Audio Visual, said the appointment reflects growing demand for engineering-led Hi-Fi solutions in the local market.

“ATC’s Hi-Fi loudspeakers represent a level of honesty and engineering integrity that is increasingly rare,” Sawyer said.

ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company), founded in 1974 by Australian engineer Billy Woodman, designs and manufactures its own drive units and electronics in-house. Its professional client roster includes Pink Floyd, Mark Knopfler, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Abbey Road Studios and the Sydney Opera House.

Will Woodman of ATC said Synergy’s experience in the premium audio segment made it a natural partner for the Australian expansion.

“Synergy Audio Visual understands the expectations of the high-end Hi-Fi community and shares our commitment to performance and long-term support,” he said.

Distribution will begin immediately, with dealer appointments, product availability and demonstration opportunities expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
