Swann Launches New Wire-Free Smart Security Camera

With over thirty years experience in DIY video surveillance, Swann has today unveiled its new wire-free Smart Security Camera – equipped with 1080p full HD video and Swann’s trademarked ‘True Detect’ heat-sensing technology.

The new security camera will feature 120-degree viewing, therefore, set to capture details such as faces and license plates from a wider angle.

Night vision and full weatherproofing (via a IP65 rating) is also incorporated.

Swann states the new device offers “effortless installation” – consumers will simply require a Wi-Fi connection and their smartphone. The ease of installation is further supported by a “completely wire-free design” and rechargeable battery.

Unlike some other surveillance systems, the wireless camera does not require a DVR or base station. Swann states it will connect to a Wi-Fi network within minutes.

The company’s trademarked True Detect heat-sensing technology means users will not be bothered by falling leaves, or a pet moving around the home. ‘True Detect’ uses heat-based Passive Infrared motion detection to reliably identify heat emitted from larger objects, such a people and cars.

Once triggered, users will receive a notification to their smartphone, coupled with video recording to the local memory and secure cloud.

Travis Bedford, Vice President of Asia Pacific at Swann, states of the new innovation:

“Using our 30 years of experience in Do-it-Yourself security, we’ve introduced a unique product with the new True DetectTM Technology in order to deliver smarter security that users can truly rely on”

“Many people say they want to implement home security; however, don’t have the time or money to install and purchase an effective home security solution”

“Given the Smart Security Camera is 100% wire-free and rechargeable, people don’t need to waste money on installation and can avoid the high cost of battery replacements”

“It’s also a great option for renters due to its affordability, portability and no drilling requirements. They can quickly and easily set up their camera and enjoy the peace of mind knowing their home or business is under 24/7 surveillance”.

Smartphone accompaniment is conducted through the new SAFE by Swann app (for both iOS & Android), allowing users to interact with the new camera from “anywhere in the world”.

For users desiring expanded protection, the trademarked ‘ExtraSafe’ plan is also on offer.

Further information on the new product can be viewed on Swann’s website here.

Swann’s new Smart Security Camera will be available at Bunnings Warehouse, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and other authorised Australian retailers from November 2017.

RRP for the product will begin at AUD $269 for a single camera, AUD $499 for a twin pack, AUD $739 for three cameras, or AUD $969 for four cameras.
