Successful Afterpay Acquisition Sees Expansion To US
Afterpay is rolling ahead with it’s plan to expand into the US, after a successful licensing acquisition.
The successful Australian business, which offers delayed payments in a fortnightly plan, has acquired a licence for financial lending in the US sunny state of California.
The move has seen it’s shares jump of 4.6 per cent for the ‘buy now, pay later’ company on Thursday, as the company goes ahead with it’s aggressive expansion of market shares.

But it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the Australian financial service.
Regulators in Australia have previously accused Afterpay – considered a leader in the market – of non-compliance with money laundering laws.
Australia’s central bank is also set to review the payments industry this year.
