Sonos Launch Playlist Potluck Partnership With Spotify

The biggest name in wireless sound is teaming up with the biggest name in music streaming for the holiday season.

The partnership, called Playlist Potluck, invites users of both friends to RSVP their music tastes to parties using the Sonos or Spotify apps and offers them a chance to win a dream dinner for ten prepared by a world class chef.

See the video below for more information:

To go along with the partnership, Sonos also released some interesting data about the role that music plays at social gatherings.

They found that music at parties helps 82% relax, and 78% use it as an ice-breaker.

85% say there has to be music playing; the same number believe that, after the presence of good friends and good conversation, music is the most essential ingredient to a good party.

When it comes to who controls that music, 20% of survey respondents said that we should take turns controlling the music and 62% believe it’s important everyone has the opportunity to add to the playlist.

44% said they’ve connected with a stranger at a party because of music
