Microsoft has confirmed that Zain Nadella, son of CEO Satya Nadella and his wife, Anu, died on Monday morning.
Zain was just 26 years old. He was born with cerebral palsy.
Nadella credits his son for the company’s focus on designing products to better serve users with disabilities.
“Zain will be remembered for his eclectic taste in music, his bright sunny smile and the immense joy he brought to his family and all those who loved him,” Jeff Sperring, CEO of Seattle Children’s Hospital, wrote in a message to his Board, which was shared with Microsoft executives.
Zain recieved his early treatment at the Children’s Hospital. Last year, Nadella founded the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, as part of Seattle Children’s Center for Integrative Brain Research
