Smeg’s Multifunctional Warming Drawers Go Beyond Keeping Food Hot
Smeg has expanded its kitchen appliance range with a new collection of multifunction warming drawers designed for built-in kitchens and modern entertaining.Â
The drawers offer a range of functions that go well beyond simply food warming, being able to carry out dough proofing, low-temperature cooking, food dehydration, yoghurt fermentation and defrosting.Â
With temperature settings that range from 30°C to 85°C, the appliance can offer flexibility when it comes to food preparation.Â
A useful addition to a coffee station in the kitchen, too, there are even dedicated settings for warming cups (and plates).
Multifunction warming drawers are evolving from a niche entertaining accessory into a more versatile kitchen appliance with the ability to help out with food prep, act as a slow cooker, and support beverage service.Â
“A warming drawer is the unsung hero of a high-performance kitchen,” said Karen Olle, director of marketing at SMEG USA. “Our new line brings professional-level precision into the home, with the versatility to proof dough, slow-cook, keep meals at the ideal temperature, or enhance a dedicated coffee bar. Thoughtful technology makes them easy to use, while SMEG’s signature design allows them to integrate seamlessly into the kitchen.”
The Italian-made drawers’ design features include a handleless push-pull opening mechanism and a Digi Touch LED display, combining a streamlined appearance with digital temperature control.

A range of finish options are available to cater to different kitchen styles, including stainless steel from Smeg’s Professional Collection, Neptune Grey from its Linea collection and panel-ready models designed to blend with surrounding cabinetry.
The Smeg warming drawers range is available in 24-inch and 30-inch widths, intended for installation alongside built-in wall ovens.
Pricing is US$1,499 to US$1,599. While Smeg USA has announced the international rollout of the multi-functional warming drawer models, availability in Australia is not yet confirmed. Smeg Australia does, however, feature a lineup of Reheat Drawers also suited to home cooking and entertaining with similar expanded functions.Â
