Reolink has expanded its Australian home security range with the launch of the OMVI 2i Ultra, a new wire-free security camera combining dual-view monitoring, intelligent tracking and solar charging.

First unveiled at IFA 2026, the OMVI 2i Ultra is now available for $429.99 at JB Hi-Fi, marking Reolink’s first product launch with the retailer. The camera will be sold across 160 JB Hi-Fi stores nationwide, adding to the brand’s existing retail presence at The Good Guys, Costco and Bunnings Warehouse.

Designed for homeowners and businesses, the OMVI 2i Ultra combines a fixed wide-angle camera with a motorised pan-tilt camera, allowing users to monitor large outdoor areas without installing multiple security devices.

The dual-camera system features an 8MP (4K) wide-angle camera that captures an overview of the surrounding area, alongside a 5MP (3K) pan-tilt camera that can follow moving objects and capture additional detail.

Reolink’s SyncTrack technology allows the pan-tilt camera to automatically track people, vehicles and animals detected by the wide-angle camera. With 355-degree horizontal rotation and 55-degree vertical movement, the camera can continue following subjects even after they move outside the fixed camera’s field of view.

An automatic framing feature also adjusts the camera’s zoom and positioning to keep moving subjects in focus. Users can manually direct the pan-tilt camera by tapping a location within the wide-angle camera’s live view.

Power comes from a removable 10,000mAh battery, which Reolink claims can provide up to six months of operation on a single charge, depending on usage conditions.

The camera also features a built-in 6W solar panel incorporating Reolink’s SolarEase technology, which the company claims improves charging efficiency by 26 per cent. According to Reolink, just 30 minutes of daily sunlight is enough to maintain operation under suitable conditions, including some partially shaded environments.

Other security features include on-device AI detection capable of distinguishing between people, vehicles and animals, helping reduce unnecessary notifications triggered by movement.

The OMVI 2i Ultra also includes dual passive infrared (PIR) sensors, a motion-activated spotlight, infrared and colour night vision, and an integrated siren and lighting system designed to deter intruders.

Users can access live footage remotely, communicate with visitors through two-way audio and support up to 12 simultaneous video streams.

For recording, the camera supports microSD cards with capacities of up to 512GB, as well as Reolink’s Home Hub storage systems. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Unlike some competing smart security cameras, the OMVI 2i Ultra offers its detection, tracking and recording features without requiring a monthly subscription.

“The OMVI 2i Ultra covers a wide area while still capturing the detail up close, and because of the smart detection that runs on the camera itself, it can tell a person from a car or the family dog, meaning fewer false alarms,” said Nick Nigro, Reolink’s Vice President for Australasia.

The Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra is available now in Australia through JB Hi-Fi for $429.99.
