Shark has introduced a new handheld device called the BlastBoss, blending the functions of a compact leaf blower with tools suited to indoor cleaning tasks. The unit delivers airflow speeds of up to 190 miles per hour, positioning it as a versatile option for both outdoor debris removal and everyday household use.

The device weighs just under 1.5 pounds, making it easy to handle for extended periods. It comes with three interchangeable attachments designed to broaden its usefulness. These include an extension wand for reaching beneath furniture and appliances, a precision nozzle for targeting confined areas such as window tracks, and a broom-style attachment that works with the airflow to improve sweeping performance.

Operation is handled through a variable speed trigger, allowing users to adjust airflow intensity depending on the task. This means it can shift from a softer setting for indoor cleaning to a more powerful output for outdoor jobs when needed.

Shark states that the BlastBoss can run for up to 49 minutes on a single charge, although actual battery life will depend on the power level selected during use.

The product enters a growing category of compact blowers that has seen renewed interest and innovation. Recent entries from other brands have focused on quieter operation and distinctive designs, reflecting a shift towards more refined and user-friendly tools.

Rather than focusing solely on maximum power, Shark appears to be positioning the BlastBoss as an all-in-one solution. The aim is to offer a single lightweight device capable of handling a range of tasks, reducing the need for separate tools for indoor and outdoor cleaning.

Priced at around A$230 and offered in five colour options including Charcoal, Dove, Strawberry, Sky and Sage, the BlastBoss is designed to appeal not just as a functional cleaning tool but as a product that fits comfortably into modern home environments.

Release date and pricing for Australia have not yet been confirmed.
