Samsung Launches World-First Wireless Dolby Atmos Soundbar
Samsung Electronics Australia has launched its 2022 range of truly immersive soundbars, including the world’s first wireless Dolby Atmos soundbar.
ChannelNews was treated to a demonstration of the flagship Q990B 11.1.4ch surround sound model yesterday, and it packs a punch that will rival even the most decked out cinema. It includes one subwoofer channel, four upfiring channels and two wireless rear speakers, for a remarkable Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio experience.
Suffice to say, we were very impressed with it.

“The leap to produce quality 360-degree surround sound excellence and new calibration features from just a soundbar is testament to Samsung’s dedication and research in audio excellence,” explains Jeremy Senior, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.
The entire ten-product Q-series line-up incorporates enhancements to Q-Symphony, which allows for the soundbar to work alongside the speakers from a compatible Samsung TV to provide up to 22 channels of Dolby Atmos, giving an incredible 3D effect.

Space Fit Sound Advance adjusts and optimises the sound according to the size of the room. It does this by noting the room reverberation from both the soundbar and subwoofer, and adapting the sound on the fly.
“Australians appreciate high-end audio,” Senior continues, :and Samsung’s new range of soundbars transforms the home cinema experience with cutting edge innovations like Wireless True Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound working harmoniously together to optimise the sound for the room and place you at the heart of the action.”

The S800B and S801B Ultra Slim Soundbars will tuck in nicely, being just 1.6-inch in depth, yet boasting the same massive performance as larger soundbars.
“They deliver a powerful bass in the compact form by integrating passive radiator technology with its subwoofer and with true top-firing speaker channels it produces natural, room-filling Dolby Atmos sound,” Samsung explains.
