Samsung Launches Premium MU Series TVs

Samsung have announced the Australian launch of its MU Series TV range, which the company says will deliver a “premium viewing experience” in a wide variety of display sizes and styles with 4K UHD resolution.

The flagship curved MU9000 sits at the top of the MU Series as a “Premium UHD TV” and features HDR 1000 for up to 1,000 nits of brightness along with Ultra Black technology for reduced screen glare and reflections, particularly in bright rooms.

Featuring an ultra slim design and a 200Hz motion refresh rate for smooth and clear picture quality, the MU9000 is available in 55-inch and 65-inch.

“Samsung strives to deliver the best possible premium TV experience that meets the need of our Australian customers and we are doing this by giving more people access to the latest in Samsung panel innovation, features, and design with the MU Series.” said Carl Rose, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia.

The MU7000, alongside its curved counterpart the MU8000, is also pitched as a “Premium UHD TV”. Both models lack the Ultra Black technology of the MU9000, but feature the same HDR 1000, 200Hz motion refresh rate and ultra slim design.

Available in a variety of sizes, the 82-inch model of the MU7000 is the largest TV in the MU Series.

“In addition to incredible picture quality, our research tells us 38% of Australians are seeking larger TV screens, with the majority of these people (63%) wanting a screen larger than 55”. That is why we continue to invest in offering a great UHD experience in large formats from 55-inch to 82-inch within the MU Series,” Rose said.

A cable management system first introduced with Samsung’s top-of-the-line QLED TVs is also adopted in the MU7000, MU8000 and MU9000, which is designed to reduce clutter from the multiple devices found in typical home entertainment settings.

Meanwhile, the flat screen MU6400 simply features an ultra slim design but, even without the top technical features of other MU Series TVs, Samsung said it is capable of delivering “incredible picture quality” thanks to the company’s latest panel technology.

The same applies for the curved MU6300 and the flat MU6100. These TVs, along with all others in the MU Series, feature Samsung’s One Remote Control for controlling multiple devices, Smart Auto-Detection for identifying and labeling compatible connected devices, and Smart Hub that allows for quick and easy navigation of video streaming and more.
