Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones could arrive in a broader range of colours and storage options, according to a new leak ahead of the company’s expected Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

The leak, attributed to Digital Citizen and reported by several Android-focused outlets, claims Samsung is preparing three foldable models: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is tipped to launch in cream, graphite, mint and pink. Storage options are expected to include 256GB and 512GB.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to come in cream, graphite, lavender and pistachio, while the higher-end Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could be offered in cream, graphite, green shadow and Violet Shadow.

Both Fold models are tipped to ship in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants, suggesting Samsung is maintaining a premium storage mix despite rising component and memory costs.

Cream and graphite appear to be the common neutral finishes across all three devices, while Samsung may use the brighter and darker exclusive colours to better separate the Flip, Fold and Fold Ultra lines.

The naming strategy is also becoming clearer. Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be a wider-format foldable, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will serve as the more direct successor to the current premium Fold model.

Samsung has not confirmed the devices, colour options or launch timing. However, the company traditionally uses its mid-year Unpacked event to unveil new foldables, with several leaks pointing to a late-July announcement.

The foldable category is becoming increasingly competitive as Chinese brands push thinner designs, larger batteries and aggressive pricing. Apple is also widely expected to enter the foldable market, putting added pressure on Samsung to strengthen its premium positioning.

For Australian consumers, final pricing will be a key factor. Samsung’s foldables already sit at the top end of the local smartphone market, and any price rise could make pre-order bonuses, trade-in offers and storage upgrades more important than ever.
