Despite struggling in the Australian TV market Samsung Electronics captured 28.3% of the global TV market last year cementing their position for the 19th year as the #1 brand according to the South Korean Company.
The claim is based on Omdia research which appears not to be available in the Omdia newsroom.
What has not been identified is who came in second and third.
The London based research Company has not said how they capture data in markets such as Australia after Samsung claimed that they hold a 46.8% market share of the QLED TV market and 49.6% share of the over A$3,500 TV market.
At CES Hisense laid claim to being the #1 TV brand sold in Australia based on GFK data.
Neither Harvey Norman, JB Hi Fi or The Good Guys supply sell through data to GFK.
In 2024, the company shipped a total of 3.18 million OLED TV units, with the Company claiming a 52.4% of the global OLED TV market.
Stripping share from LG Electronics in the OLED market Samsung achieved a sales volume increase of 42%.
It was recently revealed that Chinese OLED TV manufacturer has delayed the roll out of new OLED panels due to manufacturing issues.

According to Omdia OLED TVs accounted for 45 percent of total shipments in the premium TV market — models priced over A$2,300 delivered an increase of 8.5 percentage points on-year.
According to analysts this share is expected to surpass the 50% threshold this year, to reach 53.8 percent with Chinese brands also moving to sell OLED TV panels.
Chinese brands Hisense and TCL are believed to have dominated the over 85″ premium TV market as well as the over 100″ inch TV market.
