The Bamboo line-up of PC drawing tools that bring artistic tools and touch controls to PCs have been revamped with an updated stylus pen with a soft-touch grip, improved multi-touch controls and the option to go wireless.
The tablets have broken free of the USB connection with wireless control with an additional $45 wireless module. Coupling this with a new design on the touchpad is supposedly meant to give users more of an authentic pen-to-paper feel. The three updated Bamboo models include the Pen, small Pen & Touch and the larger Fun Pen & Touch. These new units have just started shipping in Australia to hit stores soon. The entry-level Bamboo Pen runs at $95, while the Pen & Touch goes for $135. The price jumps up for the top model at $235 for the Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch.
They come with a slate of software that sets the Bamboo series apart from typical bits of creative hardware, like the Bamboo Dock software that brings typical tablet apps to Macs or PCs. There’s also higher-end software like Photoshop Elements 9 and Corel Painter Essentials 4.3 depending on which model you buy.
