REL Reinvents Iconic Serie S Line
REL has unveiled a complete reinvention of its acclaimed Serie S line, marking the subwoofer specialist’s boldest update to date.
The Serie S was previously refreshed across 2014, 2016 and 2019.
The new 2025 lineup takes the redesign further by re-engineering drivers, amplifiers, cabinetry, passive radiators and wireless systems from the ground up.
Four models make up the new range: the S/550 ($6,299), the S/850 ($7,799), the Carbon Special Black Label ($9,999), and the flagship 212 Black Label ($11,999).
Each model features REL’s new, faster, and lighter drivers with carbon-fibre refinements, paired with Linear Class D amplifiers that offer more headroom and control.
The S/550 features a 10-inch driver and a 12-inch passive radiator, paired with a 550-watt amplifier.

The S/550
The S/850 steps up to a 12-inch driver and 850 watts of power.

The S/850
The Carbon Special Black Label boasts a 12-inch carbon-fibre driver and a 900-watt amp.

The Carbon Special Black Label
The 212 Black Label is built for large rooms with dual 12-inch active drivers, dual passive radiators and 1,000 watts of power.

All are now available worldwide from authorised REL dealers.
All models are compatible with REL’s Airship Direct high-resolution wireless system, designed to simplify installation without compromising performance.
Cabinets have been widened and lowered on select models for greater presence, with gloss lacquer finishes and optional handcrafted wood grilles.
(The Carbon Special Black Label includes a premium wood grille as standard, while it remains optional on other models.)
For those chasing the ultimate bass experience, the Serie S can be configured in a Line Array (excluding the 212), stacking up to three subs with heavy aluminium couplers to create a tower of bass.
According to REL, the result is not only more low-end output but also smoother, better-balanced bass.
At a launch event, REL lead designer John Hunter said, “We took everything we’ve learned over three decades and re-engineered the line from the ground up – including drivers, amplifiers, cabinetry, and even wireless connectivity.”
He also noted the return on investment of splashing out on good speakers.
“REL has always been about connecting people to the emotional truth of music and film,” he said, promising the new line would give people “a chance to feel that for themselves and to see how REL’s craft translates into real-world experiences”.
