Philippines Faces Major SIM Card Deactivation

The Philippines government has refused a request to delay from telecom companies to delay registration mandate. As a result, about half of all mobile phone SIM cards could be deactivated this week under a government ban of unregistered cards. This will also have implications on the online services market.
