Optus Offer Country’s First 5G mmWave Plan

Optus will be offering the first handset in Australia to launch with mmWave capability – Google Pixel 6 Pro – which is available now on pre-order.

5G mmWave is the next generation of 5G, offering insane speeds, huge bandwidth and the best capacity available.

Optus have branded it Optus 5G Max, and it will be rolled out in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Optus is also price-matching any competitor’s “upfront retail price on the same Pixel model”, and offer three-years interest pay through OptusPay.

“The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the first handset in Australia to launch with mmWave capability,” Harvey Wright, Head of 5G at Optus said.

“Optus 5G Max, our mmWave capable network, is starting to roll out in select areas of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and as we continue to grow this network more and more of our customers will have access to the fastest 5G – allowing them to stream, share and create the content they want, when they want.”
