Oppo has begun lifting the curtain on its next foldable smartphone, with fresh comments offering the clearest indication yet of how seriously the company is taking the upcoming Find N6. Zhou Yibao, who leads Oppo’s Find product line, recently shared on Weibo that he had attended an internal briefing dedicated entirely to the new device.

Zhou said the mood inside Oppo following the presentation was strikingly upbeat. After viewing the full product overview, staff reportedly felt confident that the company’s foldable roadmap is on the right track, suggesting the Find N6 is seen internally as more than a routine refresh.

The handset is expected to arrive sometime after the Lunar New Year, and Zhou stressed that Oppo is aiming well beyond modest improvements. Rather than focusing on small refinements, the goal this time is to deliver a foldable that is noticeably more capable while remaining slim and easy to carry, an area where compromises have traditionally been hard to avoid.

One of the most persistent issues with foldable phones, the visible crease in the inner display, appears to be a major priority. During the internal demo, Oppo reportedly showcased new engineering solutions designed to minimise this problem. Zhou described the crease in vivid terms, likening it to an awkward gap between two makeshift beds, an image intended to underline how disruptive it can feel during everyday use.

His point was that the crease is not simply an aesthetic concern. It affects how the screen looks under light, how it feels under the fingers and ultimately how immersive the entire experience is. For many buyers, this remains one of the key trade-offs when choosing a foldable over a conventional smartphone.

To address that, Oppo has invested heavily in research and development, with a clear focus on improving hinge mechanics and display layering. Employees who handled the device during the internal session reportedly noticed the difference immediately, suggesting the changes are both visible and tactile.

Industry leaks now point to the Find N6 potentially offering the shallowest crease seen on any foldable phone to date. If those claims prove accurate when the device launches, Oppo could gain a meaningful edge over competitors, particularly in an increasingly crowded foldable market where small details often shape buying decisions.
