With Apple officially revealing the iPhone 15 lineup on September 13th (AEST), Google have now announced the official launch event for the upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, taking place on October 4th.
The event will take place in New York, beginning at 10AM local time. The company said it’ll “introduce the latest additions” to its Pixel lineup. There is a possibility the Pixel Watch 2 could also be launched then. Google also leaked its Pixel 8 Pro smartphone just recently.
There have been a lot of leaks surrounding the Pixel 8 Pro lately, with rumours of a temperature sensor on the back, the Tensor G3 chipset, a 6.7 inch 120Hz QHD & LTPO OLED screen, 12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage, a triple rear camera system (50MP main w/ OIS, 64MP ultrawide, & 48MP telephoto), an ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor, an 11MP selfie camera, and a 4,950mAh battery supporting 27W wired charging, and running on Android 14.
The Pixel 8 is expected to come with the same Android version, chipset, selfie camera, fingerprint sensor, storage options, a 6.17 inch 1080 x 2400 120Hz touchscreen, a 4,485mAh battery supporting 24W wired and 12W wireless charging, and a dual rear camera system (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide).
