Nougat Passes 13.5% Adoption Ahead Of Android O Launch

According to the latest data from the Android Developers Dashboard, the latest iteration of Google’s mobile OS now accounts for 13.5% of total Android devices.

It marks another strong month of growth for Nougat, which is expected to continue to grow despite the predicted launch of Android O within the next two months.

Last month saw Nougat finally pass into double digits of user-share, accounting for 11.5% of total Android devices.

This month, the gap between Nougat and its predecessors continued to grow. Losses in Jelly-Bean, Kit-Kat and Lollipop all contributed to growth for the most recent version of Android’s mobile OS.

Market share for Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich devices stayed static this month while Marshmallow managed to grow 0.5%.

While there’s still a sizable gap between the latest version of Android and its most popular predecessors (Lollipop and Marshmallow), it’s likely that Nougat will surpass Kit-Kat in market as soon as this month.
