Nothing Ear (3a) Leak Reveals Four Colours, Compact Case And Audio Upgrades
Nothing’s upcoming Ear (3a) wireless earbuds have leaked in full just hours before their official launch, with new renders revealing the budget earbuds in four colour options and a more compact transparent charging case.
The Ear (3a) is scheduled to launch on July 7 alongside the Nothing Phone (4b), after Nothing confirmed the budget earbuds last week in a teaser posted to social media. The event is due to kick off at 11am BST, or 8pm AEST.
Images published by German publication WinFuture show the earbuds in black, white, yellow and a new hot pink finish, with Nothing retaining its familiar semi-transparent design language.

The earbuds appear to follow closely from the 2024 Nothing Ear (a), but the case has been reshaped with a smaller, rounder internal cradle that matches the colour of the earbuds. A trio of small lights on the case could also act as a battery indicator.
The leak points to 12mm drivers, up from the 11mm drivers used in the previous Ear (a), along with support for LDAC and Hi-Res Audio Wireless. That would give Android users access to higher-quality Bluetooth audio than standard codecs, assuming the connected phone also supports LDAC.

One of the more interesting additions appears to be a new ‘Audio Snapshots’ feature, which could allow users to quickly capture voice notes by pressing the touch-sensitive stem.
Promotional material also reportedly points to call recording controls, although it is not yet clear how the feature will work across different markets.
Active noise cancellation has not been confirmed in the latest leak, though the in-ear design should provide some passive isolation.
Pricing is expected to sit at around €99 in Europe, broadly matching the previous Ear (a). That converts to roughly A$175, although Australian pricing or availability has not yet been confirmed.
